Children’s Trapper Hats
The trend right now for children’s hat is trapper hats. The trapper is the English term for what American’s call Trooper hats. Their origin can be traced back to Russian Ushanka hats which translates as “hat with ears”. They are popular this winter as they stop your ears from getting too cold, and as we lose most of our body heat through our heads it can really make the difference between being warm or cold.
Trapper hats come in several different styles, the original Ushanka style of fur; we have of course used faux fur. There are also the popular style of animal trapper hats which feature the face and ears of an animal such as a wolf, bear or lion.
Trappers also sometime feature a clasp, either plastic or a ribbon fastening which tie under your chin to keep your cheeks warm too.
