Choosing High Quality Workwear

Unfortunately it’s back to work with the New Year and if your steel toe caps have given up protecting your toes it’s probably time to invest in some new work wear. But don’t worry if you’re running slightly low on funds after Christmas, we’ve got plenty of bargains to keep you well equipped at work.

Practicality can often be slightly boring but these Blackrock Fur lined Rigger Boots are not only great for keeping your feet safe with a steel toe cap and midsole, they’re also fur lined for extra comfort and warmth.

If you work indoors but still need protective footwear these Amblers Steel Safety Slip-On Women’s Shoes are perfect for industrial office use, they’re smart and do a great job of disguising the fact that they’re steel capped.

Aside from footwear we’ve also got a huge range of High Visibility clothing, including everything from hats to overalls. This Yoko Unisex Hi-Vis Thermal Thinsulate Beanie Hat can be worn alone or under a helmet and is great for being seen on those grey and rainy days.  As well as the classic Hi-Vis vest, like this Dickies Highway Safety Waist Coat there’s lots of warmer options to keep you seen.  The Portwest Hi-Vis Traffic Jacket is hooded, storm-proof and quilted for extra warmth.

For a good quality coverall, try these Panoply Mach 6 Panostyle Overalls. Available in grey and navy and equipped with 7 functional pockets and an elasticated waist for comfort, they offer the best blend of style and practicality.

Choosing Safety Boots

At Universal Textiles we sell a wide range of high quality work wear at affordable prices. Perfectly suited to work or personal use, our Safety Boots are protective, durable and comfortable, complying with the required safety regulations.  Here we take a look at the merits of a small selection of boots available.

The Portwest Steelite Protector Boot is a bestseller on our website due to its quality and exceptional price of just £14.24. The boot provides superb protection thanks to a 200 joule steel toecap, steel midsole and a slip resistant, energy absorbent heel. Made from split buffalo leather, this sturdy lace-up is a great safety boot.

Caterpillar are known for their thorough testing which ensures their boots are durable, safe and of the highest quality. This can be seen in the Caterpillar Dimen 6” Boot. The leather lace-up boot conforms to the ISO20345 Safety Footwear Standard with a safety category marking of SB-SRC. The boot has toe protection of up to 200 joules impact and a nylon lining for comfort.

With many of the same qualities as the Caterpillar boot, the Timberland Split Rock Gaucho Boot has a safety category marking of S3-SRB. The boot has a water resistant upper as well as a penetration resistant midsole of up to 1100 newtons. Extra protection is provided by the rubber EVA sole unit, whilst the boot has speed lace hooks to provide an efficient fit.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

The Jallatte JJV28 Boot conforms to the ISO20345 Safety Footwear Standard and has a side zip allowing both easy access and greater protection. It is made with ankle protection and a scuff cap. As well as being water resistant, having toe protection and a penetration resistant midsole, the sole of the boot is also resistant to high heat up to 300°C.

Other boots that come with high customer recommendations include the Amblers FS7 Mens Boot and the Dr Martens FS73 Boot. To view our full selection of Safety Boots, click here.
